Just got back from a show where Yamaha showed off the Vipers and thier new RX-1's. Had 4 colours though. Didn't know they came in black????? They had the silver one there also as a Mountain sled. 156 inch and they say it's 11 of travel. (Looks like more) 2 inch paddle track. Very Very quiet sled. Pretty cool. Thought I'd just share my experience of one.
Yea, the Yamaha WSA Eastern Nationals are this weekend here at Vernon Downs. They are promoting the new RX-1 and the Viper Mountain sled. I can't wait!

Does anyone know how much those things weigh?I see Yamaha didn't even mention dry weight, my guess is because that 4 cyl 4 stroke is so damn heavy they're afraid to mention it.I don't know, I'm not impressed yet, we'll see how they do next year when some of them are out on the trail.
Supposed to weigh the same as a SRX 700. I think if anyone is thinking of getting one they should concider the SRX. A friend of mine has one with a clutch kit and it will rip the s**t out of anything that he comes across. He is able to beat his brothers mach-z adrenaline, his cousins ZL 800, and his uncles XCR 800. Plus the thing rides like it is on rails. And he gets better fuel milage than all of them.
Hmmm, well, ok after a nite of -30 celcius without any external ways of keeping it warm (Such as plugging it in or other means of keeping the engine warm)
