do you guys know of any thermal long johns that not only keep you warm but also keep the wind off of ones self? i like to ride with just a hooded sweater instead of a coat but that wind can really get to you. any suggestions?

I'd try a trash bag, cut out for the arms and the head if you want to see.
Just kidding.
Have you tried GoreTex? I know it's waterproof so it sounds like it may stop the wind also.
Just a thought.

You could spend more on a friggin coat than your last sled cost you. I do recommend getting a coat that will breath. I have a few of the Columbia convertible jackets that everyone has, but when you take it off, the inside of the shell is always dripping with moisture. I wish I could afford goretex, but i'll be living with the hefty cinch sack like 700ZXM.

I would buy manufacturers clothing. I have a Polaris coat and some Polaris snowpants. The coat is almost paper thin and I sweat in it when I am riding, even when it is real cold. The snowpants, they get a little saoked, but never to the inside so they also keep me warm!

i know neoprene works great. i wear my scuba gear when it gets real cold, dont have to wear much of any thing else sweat like a pig. The problem is ive always worn a factory jacket over top. The wind could be a problem without. The other problem is the cost... if i didnt get them through work im not sure id wanna pay the $780

i wonder if they have a flexible one that looks like a hand and comes in life like skin colors... LOL um... my idea is to wear a small wind breaker under hooded sweatshirt... I wear long johns, windblock fleece sweatshirt, hooded sweatshirt, and a down vest, then gloves that cover up my arm a bit with drawstrings and liners, i wanna get some trukk boots this year and new snowpants!

Duct tape much like the force... it has a light side, a dark side.... and it holds the world together!

I got a nice Goretex jacket and bibs last year from Cabella's.They're made for riding and I dont feel any wind at all, even when I ride my 'wheeler in 0 degree weather. They're so warm, I only wear a t-shirt under so its not too bulky and easy to move around in.

Not to stray from you're personal parts pleasure items. Has anyone used the hand bar mitts? Do not need to be the ones displayed here but any and do they work or are they just a pain and cumbersome. I often think I would like them on real cold days. When the top of the hand freezes and the palm is burning. Any thoughts would be great.
