Hi all. I'm starting to think about my Yami again after I blew up the clutches in last year's Hill Climb competition.

There isn't much in the way of snowmobile scrap yards out my way (Vancouver, BC) so anyone out there know of anyone scrapping out something similar to a '99 Mountain Max 700.

Anyone know if that's the same motor as the SRX700 in that era or have suggestions on what I could put on?

thx.

No its not the same engine as the SRX, same as the SXR though. Did you blow the primary and secondary or which? Hit www.totallyamaha.com and check their forums. Post a WTB thread in the garage sale forum someone will probably have one for you.

Blew both clutches up. Thanks for the clarification on the motors. I always confuse SRX and SXR. I'll check out TY.com

cheers.

My guess is the belt wrapped over the secondary after the primary blew up and tweaked the outer sheath. Here's the current state of my Yami.

Here is the rest of the pics from that weekend and hillclimb.

[ sigh ]

Now here's to hoping the crank ain't twisted and the motor is still ok. [ crossing fingers ]

Yes, the sled was still running. I hit the kill switch after it blew. It wasn't the size of the hill so much as the flat spotted belt from the day before. My bad.
