Learnin' to Skid

Well just stopped off at the Polaris dealer and bought myself a skid plate. Its actually fairly easy to install, but requires drilling 4 holes into the bulkhead and 2 more into the nose pan. A special tool is given with the plate that inserts threaded grommets into the holes you drilled. then the plate simply bolts on. Easy instalation = more protection

Triumph is now "skid-proof"...lol

we bought a 1995 indy 500 with a skid plate on it for my younger brother a couple years back, the thing kept filling with snow and becoming so frozen by the next morning it was really difficult to turn the skis at all...does this happen with all skid plates? i'm wondering cuz i wanna put one on my 1997 XLT SP.

it wasn't aftermarket, it came from polaris but it didn't have slots in it like that. what i mean is snow would get jammed between the steering arms and the skid plate and freeze there. they've probably changed them since then and i hope they have cuz i want one real soon so i don't have to worry about hitting things quite as much when i'm jumping my sled.
