it is an exact replica of the original hood. after you cut the vent holes and do a little trim work.(took me a half hour to trim the hood, drill the vent holes, and add the tach and fuel gauge. they have a small line to follow for trimming the bottom of the hood so you just measure to double check.) my high gloss black hood looks exactly like the stock fiber glass hood with the decals removed.
the two things I love are the fact that you can basically fold the hood up or crash and the hood will live. plus it is lighter than heck compared to the stock hood.
I dont like it for the fact that I think the paint will be easy to scratch.
personally I would go with the black hood. I did a poll on snow west and a lot of people said the clear hoods look great at first. after a couple years on the trails they get scratched up and coated in belt goo or exhaust discoloring.
