I just bought a a 94 ZR700. It had gotten dirt in the carb and a piece got into the main jet on #1 cylinder and galled the cylinder.

1. I am looking for some help on locating a place to have the cylinder re-chromed.

2. Wheil I am at some tips on making it bit more peppy without braking the bank.

I am a master mechanic for a living so I will be doing all the work in my shop. I was told that having the gasket surface milled off both heads would help some as well as a clutch kit. Sled is bone stock execpt for the 144 studs.

Any suggestion would be very much appreciated. I have been reading hte post for wheil and it seem thats there is some very good info here.

I hear of a place in wisconsin that does well with re-plating. I think this is the one:

Try these guys. I heard somewhere you could send them back to the factory for replating, but don't know how much that would cost.

Ok ,

I have another question. Are there any draw backs on re-sleeving verse's re-plating?? The plating is $75 over a sleeve.[?]

Also a couple of sites that would offer some up-grade parts like plastic skie's and items of that nature. I have been looking but not found many that are a parts ware house type of buiness.
