Seen a lot of problems around here with the big sdi 1000 twins. The guys who buy them never buy another. Powerful, yes, but most quit around 3k miles, 4k if your really lucky....
The whole reason they stoped the 1000 was the new 800 Ptech was suppose to be just as much or a little more hp. So why have a bigger twin when you can have a 200cc less and still have just as much hp. I was told the new Etech 800 is suppose to be one bad sled this year. Im not a doo guy by any means, just telling you what I know.
Like mentioned about everyone Ive talked to that has those bigger twins have a lot of problems with the cranks.Good luck.
Talking with those that sell Ski-Doo has shown me that the Mach was not a long life sled. It has motor problems and has been dropped with resale being way low and spare parts are not abundant or cheap. You can find them for a real good deal in good condition, and there is a reason for this.
