I have a 1976 mercury trail twister with a 340 fan and twin mikuni 34mm slide carbs....it seems to bog out if i go wide open[:(!], and right now it doesnt seem to want to run much over idleing...is there a way to adjust tehm or syncronize them w/o taking it to and expert mechanic?

Here is a link that might help. On a sled that old I would take them apart and give them a good cleaning. I do mine every 1000 miles or every fall.

Thats a nice machine you've got there.

When's the last time someone went through/cleaned the carbs? Does it run well at every other range then WOT wide open throttle?

well, i went out and worked on it a little, and i didnt adjust antthing and it seemed to run alright, well idle good...i think what is happening is when the sled takes off, the gas sloshes around in the tank and lets air in...anyone have a good solution to this problem?

Is the end of your line in the tank at the very bottom? You could put a heavier strainer on the bottom so it stays in the gas and doesn't suck any air.
