Hi, I am currently restoring a 97 cc 440. I want to install the new cover but the foam has mold on it. Any cleaner that will get rid of the mold without ruining the foam. Thanks

If you let it dry and keep it dry for an extended period of time the mold will die. As far as I know mold needs moisture to live and once it's dead - it's dead. The foam may be black but it won't do any harm.

Good luck!

Vinegar or baking soda (but not both at the same time[}:)])
My grandpa got rid of mold under his carpet by using windex.
Because foam absorbs moisture, I would try baking soda first because it is not a liquid. To clean it up, use a vaccuum.

Interesting timing on this thread as I was looking on how to remove mildew on marine vinyl. I did see that you can prvent mold from returning by washing the object in a mixture of white vinegar and water.

Google it and it should come uop under ehow and a couple other places.
