The sled is a 2001 Polaris Xc Sp, and it has 2500-3000 miles on it. On the last ride of the season, on the way back to the cabin the sled started acting stupid and running like crap only on the lower RPM's. When you gave it some gas the motor ran like normal. When we got back to the house we pulled the plugs and there was no gap on one of them, the plug was completely burnt black. Also there was gas coming out of the space inbetween the gas take and the chasis while it was running,(NO gas coming out when not running) right behind the fuel pump. Does anybody know whats wrong? The fuel pump? The carbs? Or something in the motor? I can get the sled home for another month or two because its in vermont. Im just trying to get an idea of whats wrong.

As powersledder said, I would be investigating that dead cylinder. If the plug gap was smashed closed, there is definitely somthing banging around in there. Could be a broken ring, piece of crank or rod bearing. As far as the gas, you will have to look for where the gas is coming from.

Definitely start by popping the head off that cylinder, and go from there.
