how many of you guys are into the Winston Cup Series? i just started to watch it this year and found it pretty interesting. If alot of u are interested, we should start a private fantasy league on Nascar.com...it would kinda keep us busy for the long winter we see to be having..

I am definately NOT a nascar fan. In my opinion they are rolling billboards in a sport that discourages both technology and advancement. Mention fuel injection to a NASCAR machanic and they go into convultions. Plus going in a oval for endless miles is about as boring as watching paint dry. No wait I think I would rather watch paint dry. Anyhow this is just my opinion and for those that do like NASCAR, that's great...it's just not for me.

I must agree with it being as boring as watching paint dry. I watched it for 6 laps this afternoon and it put me to sleep. Oh well. I must say that it would be awesome to try though.

thats what i was thinkin bout this afternoon, they are just billboards on wheels....maybe the whole thing is just set up...oh well, it is fun to watch when the wrecks happen, aparently lots of ppl must like it when 150,000 show up to watch...

Thats what I could never understand. and they all paid good money too. Strange I never got into it being a certified speed freak. I do like the NHRA though.

they get paid lots cuz they go and risk their life every weekend, but the only get paid if they win and by their sponsers....the NHRA??

Artic cat guy I was refering to the 150,000 fans who all paid good money to watch . And I cant believe youve never heard of the NHRA. Are you just joking?

i race remote controlled cars. 1/10th scale. i have a truck that will go 58 miles per hour if you were 1/10th size it would means you would be going 580 mph its not the same but it is racing none the less. oh yeah and i race nitro powered rc cars and trucks

I used to be big into RC Cars and trucks, up until about 3 years ago.....kinda been thinking about getting into that, but that could be a new topic.

NASCAR is all right, I just started watching it this season. Intended is definately right about them being rolling billbords though, and the fact about them limiting tech and advancement. I mean them keep all the cars EXACTLY the same. All this does is force most of them to run in a large group, which actually causes MORE accidents......hmmm, maybe there's something there.....accidents = ratings.......hmmmm.

I'll continue watching it for a little while and reserve final judgement for the end of the season.

cant say that ive heard of the NHRA...or i cant recall...if i hear it i will probably kow right away...hotrode i see what u mean by the 150.000 ppl goin to watch em race and pay good money...the cars should be able to be a little different from each other, but then what would the fun be in watching the first place guy go laps around the second place guy? well i guess it doesnt matter if u dont like to watch it anyway...lol

every different brand car is different. Engines made my different companies in different ways with different designs. That is like syaing that because one NHRA funny car runs only say .001 seconds slower than another they are the identical car. Each kind of car(Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Pontiac) have different drag specs because each body style is different. THe cars are by no means identical. They are being pretty dumb with them lately though with restrictor plate races and all. NHRA is National Hot Rod Association aka Funny cars, top fuel dragster, and lots more drag racing. Some ppl consider a show that lasts 4 seconds pretty boring too (not me but some ppl, mostly those who say nascar in circles is too) I just want anyone who criticizes it to try and stick less than 1 foot off the guy in front of you at 200MPH threw turns and all. I will admit there are way better forms of racing but I like this too.

yup, now i know what ur talkin bout w/ the NHRA, that is pretty cool too, Formula 1 racing is also pretty damn cool, some of those corners are wicked!! i wouldnt wanna take em at 30 w/ my car and they take em over a 100 sometimes, thats crazy, they are all over the track too, not as much of that on as the nascar. Rally races are also pretty cool, but not much head to head action. nothing beats a good ol snocross race tho, but u cant hardly find that on TV...
