Wassup Fellas. I am stuck with a very big question. What in the world am I going to buy in the spring for a new sled. I can get almost anything, but nothing larger than an 800. The RX-1 is on order for my friend so forget that. I have wanted to get either a ZR600 or an 800, but the XC 800 looks damn good also. It's so freakin hard to choose, I don't want anything too expensive because I will only ride maybe 20-25 days next winter whenever I can get on leave. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just got almost a grand off on my 02 700 RMK. They had about 15 left and need to move them. You might look at a left over, whatever brand you choose. Still brand new, just a lot less expensive.
We don't care what you ride. Just ride!

our local dealer doesn;t have a huge lot so they move stuff like that.
They don't like to deal though. Still sell all their stuff so I guess for them it doesn't matter.

wow, RMK huh, thats a nice machine....but if i was to brand jump, i would look for a left over zr 600 or 500, if i was going new,,as far as cat, id want a firecat.....dont know what polaris has new, but i indeed like the rmk's, or an xc 600, but who knows..
Hey paulxlt, I just ordered the F7 firecat and I am selling my 2001 ZR600EFI with only 1,100 miles on it and it has the 2002 coupled suspension, skid plate and other accessories, where do you live????
yeah but the design your own firecat, is damn tempting, and i like the graphics with the skull and stuff, dammit, i've rode polaris for half my life, and cat does something like this-----id love nothing more than to go get a firecat and rub it in to two of my friends who bought the 02 zr 600 cross country sleds.......oh would they be mad, but i like to wait and see what polaris brings out, but im not waitn forever, cause its now LEAD FOLLOW OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!!,and the way i see it,,,CAT has got the ticket
my dad had my sister go to arcticcat.com this morning for him so he could look at the Firecats. I know for sure that on the green sled the windshield only looks good on standard. I mean a green sled with a chrome windshield I just don't like.
A black F7 Firecat with the Saber Cat graphics and the Sno Pro suspension. That's my dream, after pounding 700 plus miles of moguled trails on my ZL800.
It rides well and handles well when the trails are in decent shape, but when the trails turn to moguls the suspension bottoms out a little too much.
A sled that weighs 100 lbs less with the same HP and the Sno Pro suspension would be the ticket.
The ZR900 is an awesome sled! When I was in the UP a bunch of guys were racing on Lake Gogebic, MXZ800, ZR800 and a ZR900, the 900 just totally blows off 800s like they're standing still. For 2003 they are also making the Sno Pro suspension available on the ZR900. I think the ZR900 might just put all the 800 tripples to shame and possibly its big brother the Thundercat. Maybe thats why Cat is'nt producing any tripple 2 strokes in 2003.
My uncle's Piped 800 beats the 900. Now a Piped 900 would be nice but I bet if they get into the EFI box on the F7 and work it over it will be real sweet. I hate that Cat is locking EFI boxes and making it so hard to mod. I think it is just dumb that they try to prevent you from modifying something YOU own.

sno pro will be stiff for normal riding but landing big jumps and mogul mashing will be better. The average rider wants the normal one. Only if you spend your whole day mogul mashing would you want the SnoPro. Would be way to stiff if you normally trail ride all the time.
