I am running 22/40 which is a 1.818 gear ratio, compared to the 1.69 gear ratio of your setup. This is actually stock XCSP 500 gear ratio so I already had the gears from when my sled was a 500. You should be able to run this setup with the same chain you have, and it will definetly give you more snap on the bottom end.

22 will do just fine, though the stock 23 is just fine the way it is. get a clutch kit and leave the gearing as is and you will notice night and day difference. had a dalton clutch kit on mine and it was awesome.

22/40 and you'll still be quick enough to smoke some other sleds, change out your clutch springs. I liked running mine at 8200-8250 rpm.
