Hello, I am new to thissite, a friend recomended it to me so I thought that I would check it out. Anyway, I have a pretty much stock '99 XC 700 SP and I recently put a EPI clutch kit on. My problem is that it runs about 8500 RPM. My manual says it should be around 7800-8000 RPM. The weights that came with the kit were 10-62's I put the stock 10-60's back in and it ran about 8200 RPM. I don't know if I should buy a set of 10-58's and try it or if someone has a better idea or info. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. Happy trails. Jeff

What hole is your secondary spring in ?? Did you preload the spring? To drop the RPM you need to add weight not reduce it. Also does it sound like its overreving ??

You need to put the 10-62's in it then. They gave you those weights for that reason, to keep your RPM'S down.
