I put a new clutch on my 97 zl 440, this is a 9 post and i switched from a 6 post. The sled calls for 48.5 g weights so i put them in and the clutch now engages at about 3500-4000 rpms. This just didnt sound good and it cant be good for the sled. So i took the clutch off of an 85 jag and popped it on and it runs great now. How can I get my new clutch to work properly? Different weights? spring?

The engagement is correct.
If you want a bit lower, change to 48 gram weights.

well i guess its higher than that maybe 4500, so lower weights will lower the engagement?

I double checked the setup, you should have a red spring and A-22 weights (46.9 grams).
