I have just over 5000 miles on my Ultra.I guy was telling me the other day I may want to consider replacing the piston rings. Anybody have any thoughts on this. Anything else I may want to consider looking at. Everything seems to be running great, usually that's when the crap hits the fan! Thanks guy's.

when you have your pistons out also chack the conecting rod for slop or a wobbel. it would be good for a new set of rings, and a light honing.

My 97 XLT SP has 5400 on it and is still running fine w/plenty of power. But I've heard the same thing to some degree. I plan on giving my motor a complete rebuild this summer. If you have the knowledge and tools to do it yourself, I say go w/the rebuild. Hey it will be summer, so your not going to loose any riding time, and come this winter, you'll have the piece of mind that your engine is fresh and ready for the season.
