I just picked up a 1996 Polaris xcr 600 for $300.
It runs but boggs out at 60 mph.
the seat is torn and there is a crack in the hood.
please give feedback on why it mite be bogging out
and if this was a good deal.

First thing you are going to want to do is clean the carbs. It is the least expensive to do (Only costs a can of carb cleaner if you don't already have one.) and most likely why it is bogging.

if it turn out being a simple fix and you get it running strong it was a good deal, probably the warmer weather messing with the jetting in it, the best thing to do would be wait until winter to see if it keeps bogging out then, but if your anxious you could jet it for warmer temps, and as long as you got the carbs out that far might as well clean them, otherwise it looks like a decent seld for 300 bucks

Good point, never even crossed my mind. You're jetting will be off if you're running it while it's warm out and could cause the bog. You may want to wait untill winter.
