Anyone aware of a great place to stay in the Tug Hill/Old Forge area. I have a primitive cabin in Osceola for our typical visits to the area. I was thinking of something special for the wife on our anniversary. Possible a lodge feel/resturant/hot tub/ON THE TRAIL.

sukmy49311 - I just happened to be browsing the site and found this thread. The link you posted is awesome!!!! I have been looking for this type of info for a while now since I am about 4 hours from Tug Hill. The situation is I ain't never been there but they tell me it's nice. Some people I know have been but I haven't . I kinda wanna explore it on my own first , that's just how I am. How long has the "absolutesnowmobile" site been around?

at least as long as i had a snowmobile wich about 3 years now...

i live about an hour from tug hill area, 4 hour ride by sled, lol
i HIGHLY recommend going in the middle of the week, i tried the weekend, it will never happen again lol
theres 20,000 registered snowmobiles in ny and 75percent of them are at tug hill from friday to sunday and the trails are like snoX tracks.. i go during the week when i dont have to work , and its like the nystate thruway, speedo didnt cut below 60 the whole ride, its really awsome place during the week.....

weekend, bars are packed, no place to park, way to many sleds and people, crappy trail conditions

it snows 24/7 up there
everytime ive been there it didnt stop snowing for 1 min...
