Problem:

It needs to be below freezing for a snow making machine to work.

They are quite easy to make actually, you can make one with a fan and a sprayer boom. blow a mist of water into the air with temperatures below freezing and voila, you have snow.

actually, snow machines can make snow in above freezing (0deg C, or 32deg F)...

There are two ways. Either they add chemicals to the water that they put into the mist.

Remember evaporative cooling? When the water gets into a fine mist, some evaporates, hence supercooling the water, and it becomes snow... That is the basis for snow machines. The faster the air velocity, the better. Ever seen ski hill snow machines? They are like Jet engines, aimed into the air. LOTS of velocity, and an even spread of mist through that air means LOTS of snow.

Good call. You definitely can make snow a bit above freezing, but you will not have it too long as it melts away fast.

ya, but I'm talkin no snow at like 10 degrees celcius, no matter how fast u blast the mist into the air. Even if it were to crystilize it would melt immediately.

I'm working on an invention called Astro-Snow. It's like Astro-Turf.
You can lay it anywhere you want. It'll come in 4' wide rolls.
If anyone is interested please send donations. E-mail for my address.
Thanks in advance for your support!
