no spark 1996 zrt 600 how to check whats wrong

well a simple way is to unplug the key switch first ,and welcome to the forum, have to take the dash lose to do this

I would start by jumpering the main harness, any cat dealer can tell you how to do it.
That eliminates all the switches as the probem area.

most likely the stator. those engines are known to lose them.

FIRST - What have you tried so far. What have you tested..

I have that sled.
What I would do if i seen no spark coming from my plugs-

• Get an inline spark tester and rev it up on a stand (if it starts) [/*]
• Still no spark, then bypass ignition and kill switch, and teather[/*]
• Still no spark, Then test coils [/*]
• Coils tested good? Then look into getting the stator checked/rebuilt[/*]

Do the cheap stuff first. I like my order of operations.
Let us know whats going on, we will walk you thru it all.. there are alot of great ZRT's and great owners on this site.

on my zrt i was just letting it idle and warm up i went to get my riding stuff on came out and just about got to the sled and it died so i tried to pull it over and there was no spark so i looked at the plugs on the back of my ignition switch and one of the wires came unpluged so i pluged it back in then she fired rite up this maybe something to look at and when you pull your sled over does the head light light up a little bit?

Ya test everything (after coils, before...), then bypass all the switches, tether, kill switch, key, and the carb switches. Look in the manual it explains it prety good.

96 zrt the coil wires were carroded plus the spark plug boots thank you for all you guys suggestions it really helped out thanks again garry [][][]

I have a similar issue. I moved the sled a few weeks ago and it died got weak/no spark. My tester indicates theres power but the grounded plugs show no spark.
