I have a 1980 kawasaki 440 snowmobile, It was running great i was riding it and it died it didnt spit and sputter. So i got off and took the plugs out and seen if it had spark and it doesnt what could it be i checked all the wires and there all good i tried different plugs still nothing. coult it be the coil? And is there any way to check them?

First thing unplug the wiring harness at the engine and see if you have spark. If you do, then the problem in somewhere in the wiring. If not then the next thing I would do is check the spark plug boots with an ohm meter to see if one or more of them are bad. If that checks out good then I would suspect either a bad CDI box or a bad internal coil.

I am really not trying to be a smart a#% but always check the simple stuff first. Is the kill switch in the center position, key turned to the center or all the way to the right(right for lights)and are the wiring connectors clean and snug. Try all that first. Goodluck!
