That map makes it look like a awesome winter for ND and the Montana Mtn ranges. I would rather the below zero cold stayed away though.

MI is going to need the cold weather for the lake effect machine to kick in. I was in Traverse City last weekend and over heard a local (I use to be a local) say 50/100miles out on the lake about 10-15' deep the water is still 70 degree=great lake effect.

i got family in MI i was just wondering how the lake effect works i guess i mean how is the water temp at 70 degrees 10-15 feet down make it a good lake effect?
