Why don't you tell us what its doing (or not doing) while your waiting for an electrical information reply. Maybe we can help.
yeah please tell us what the problem is. I had a 79 Kawai Intruder 440 liquid.
It doesn't have any fire at the plugs. I tried all the connections with a test light The only place I can find power with a test light is the wire to the taillight.
I have a good wiring diagram: http://www.isd.net/ecurtis/st440a1.jpg
I tried the wire that comes from the mag and it didn't light the test light but it jolted me so bad I threw the light. It don't make any sense, if I can get jolted then it should light up my light.
My father is getting a puller for me so I can have a look at the magneto
And I tried the test light and it still works

Any power on the yellow wires to and from the voltage regulator. Sounds like it could be one of three switchs. The ignition switch, the kill switch or the throttle switch if Cats have them. I had similar problems in the past and it was corrosion in the connector plug coming from the engine.
it only had power at the ignition plug labelled "L" and at other connecters on that wire.

I unplugged the kill switch to open that circuit and unplugged the ignition because "run" in the diagram says none. As for throttle switch I don't think I have one.

By unplugging these I should have bypassed the switches and I still had no power anywhere except that one wire

The wiring diagram shows three coils the lighting coil is working according to what you said. the other coils go to the CDI ,If there are connectors on these two wires (red one and white one double check that the connection is there. You could use a multi-meter set on Ohms for that. It also might be a bad ground in the magneto.Brown wire. Good luck.
Thanks man I really appreciate it. Those will be a great help.
I have the flywheel off now and I plan on getting an ohmmeter and testing the coils.

Not a problem, glad to help. I think those coils are kinda universal so they should be available if they are bad. I think they are made by Bosch or something.
