Has anyone seen or heard anything about an update to the Polaris P2 secondary clutch?
Last season I read an article by Olav Aaen that indicated Polaris would be updating the P2 secondary clutch. Aaen mentioned a new helix and spring design that would improve secondary clutch upshift under light loads and at top speed. I like the overall design and performance of the P2 better than the Team clutch Polaris had been using. In my opinion, the biggest problem with encapsulated helix clutches is their inability to upshift freely under light load conditions, such as when riding at moderate speeds on hard packed trails. Improved torque sensing upshift capability would definitely increase fuel economy and top speed should be somewhat better as well. This would be a welcome improvement for flatland trail riders like me.
