No permits will be issued this winter in Kenora Ontario. North Western Ontario. You are more than welcome to ride this area this winter for free. The trails will not be groomed by the local club, but I do believe that locals in many respects will have some sort of trails marked for safety. Theirs if not your's

Many lodges, resorts, motels, this will will be open we can guarantee that.

look into http://www.kenoraontario.net for information.

Whats going on in Kenora? Is the club rebelling against the OFSC? It makes me sad when I hear clubs are closing and trails are not groomed.

Yeah this is the first I have heard of this. This winter me and pman and our dad are plannin on going to Falcon Lake for a few days and we were gonna go to Kenora and out there but if there are no trials we'll probably stay in MB.

I'm suprised that is happening. It must cut down on tourism, since many people do not want to ride the ungroomed washboards...

Ahh you guys must have missed that information on the Kenora area

Here's the post from another board :

FYI: Just got word this morning that the local OFSC club (Sunset Trail
Riders SC Inc. ) won't be marking or grooming trails in Kenora, Ontario for
the 2002/03 season.

That's 1200km of trail, from what I understand, including the major
east-west links of the OFSC trans-Ontario A and D trail.

They cite a pending court case as the major source of the trouble. Club
is facing three charges concerning maintaining/marking trails last season
(all bogus from what we hear) and goes to court Dec 5.

Guess we're in for some bumpy riding this season...
end of quote !

So far that is all I have heard
