Polaris 488 fan backfiring

237 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  polaris754
I have a 488 fan it runs great until it gets really warm then it will start backfiring and losing power once I top it out I don’t have any problems. I’ve adjusted the air screws that has helped but not solved the problem. I’m running a smaller exhaust on the machine but it has low compression so I figure the more back pressure won’t hurt it. Any ideas could use the help thank you

running a different exhaust can definitely affect backfiring ,it may be drawing un burned fuel back in the pipe causing it to pop in the pipe
