My problem is engine temp lamp comes on, engine overheats. Happens mostly at slow speeds or when riding 2up or towing skiboose. Engine revs at 4200 for primary clutch engagement. On the trails revs about 5500 rpm
30 mph. Track is not studded. Engine is not running lean, maybe a little on the rich side. All three heat exchangers feel the same temp. Has new drive belt.

You didnt mention what year? does your model have a Thermostat? Maybe your waterpump belt is loose if it has one.Do you make sure snow gets on all the heat exchangers once in a while riding those hard packed trails?Ever had the timing checked? Thats an easy one for the dealers to... ahem "overlook" during the PDI they make you pay for when its new. Just a few things that came to mind. hope you get it sorted out.

What are the snow conditions you are running in? My friends 2000 500 Classic was overheating when we were running the sides of roads in low snow conditions.
Just not getting enough snow on the running board heat exchangers.
