Well i got the new water temp gauge installed...peice of cake...If anyone is interested in how to intall one thierselves heres how to do it. Cut the hose between the filler neck and where the thermostat housing is and splice in the plastic "T" they give you in the kit, this holds the sending unit. Wiring is not very difficult at all. You remove a couple pins from the speedo wiring harness and put in a "jumper" harness. That gives you two extra power plugs one of which will plug into the back of the temp gauge. Then run a single wire from the sending unit to the gauge. Then cut the 2 inch hole in the dash to mount the thing. i ended up taking the speedo out so that i could get enough room to put the nuts on the back of the temp gauge and tighten it up. Its just that simple. I fired mine up and works like a dream. Oh and to check the operation of the gauge i had to awaken the Triumph from hibernation :) Anyone else besides me in the mood for some snow?

I'm always ready for snow, but we got other things to do first, like harvest.

Thanks for the "how to" thing, hopefully it can help some people out!

Yeah i know all about the harvest...we got soy beans up the wazoo...gotta get 'em out of the field, but im not too worried about that. And then there is the winter wheat planting thing but that just keeps my mind off of sleddin. Oh well, harvest first, then let there be snow!

Stud install, that's fun

Don't tighten them too much, not healthy for the track, but don't make them too loose. Also, even though they are push-through, drill holes, with a drill bit designed for rubber or the like, not a wood or steel drill bit.

Yea, we have canola, soybeans and corn to harvest yet. Not concerned though, it's only september, good 2 months of time to get that stuff done.

yeah-sounds like fun-and I'm waitin for snow now too-even though i still have to do harvest-beans and corn, some of which got damaged by hail...they both look awful, like somebody went thru with a weed eater and took the leaves off.

Pal, not sure if you saw but this thread is almost 17 years old. That being said, why can't you just pick an aftermarket 2" gauge (Autometer or something else) and install it in the dash/cut it in the hose somewhere near the engine?
