I picked up a set of Polaris plastic skis with good carbide for $50 and I wanted to put them on my 97XLT can you buy rubbers to do this?...

Does anyone know if I can order the rubbers to convert them?

If they didnt already have rubbers in them then you should be able to find some somewhere, it can be done. I have plastics on my 97 ultra and its a wedge. Ive also put them on older wedge sleds but they had the rubbers with them. Look for some on e-bay or a local snowmobile junk yard.

DO I have to replace the spindles on my sled? I searched ebay for spindles and it looks like the skies would be off a edge or something like that...

Just get the narrow little rubber boots, and that's all you need. All IFS Polaris sleds use the same width spindle, so skis are interchangeable 1980-present.

That "ski bumper pad" in the second ebay link is what you need, but you also need the aluminum tray thing that it sits in.

You got to order that smaller rubber mount. It sits up higher but it is only about 1/3 as wide as the one on your metal ski... look at the link I put up

Not on all types of plastic skis. I put a pair of plastics on my 93 wedge and used the rubbers off of metal skis.
