Ive beaten F7's, Sabercat 700's, F6's, Switchback 800, ProX 700, Summit 700, RX-1, XCR 800, and 2 SrX 700's. All in 660ft races with timing tree. Ive also lost against F7's, a SC 700, Summit 700 and RX Warrior. All sleds considered stock.
If youre racing just for fun and dont have a timing light then the results arent true. The first 20ft is usually where the race is won or lost. If someone jumps even 1/4 second the results are completely messed up.
my v-max has beatin 2 polaris 440 trails 95 and a 96 beatin a 91 indy 500 a 97 xlt 600 sp and a 97 xlt touring o yeah a 02 mxz 600. ive lost to; an 01 pro-x 440, 99 indy 500 with a long track, storm 800 modded alittle, 05 rev 800
i only consider racing the same class.. 500, 600 etc. i raced my sled yesterdat against a bone stock sabercat 500 and beat it by 6 lengths on 1000ft. same with a 98 ZR 500. my purpose of modding a sled in the same cc class is just to see how it can put up against ones the same size or slightly bigger.
When my vector was brand new i lined up with a clutched por x2 600 and we ran dead even. Up in canada we came across a groomed drag strip... it was frozen solid. Someone stood out in the middle and pulled a rich from Pinks. It was my vector, 2 05 rx-1's and a zr 800 cross country. I took every single one of them til i hit about 65-70 and then it was like they were going 100 MPH forward and i was going 100mph backwards. By the end of the drag strip they were gone.
My sled - 1993 polaris indy 440 liquid cooled 2-up vs a 97 polaris indy trail 500 2-up. We did 10 runs, i won 6 races and he won 4. ( neither of us have studs or any aftermarket products on our sleds )
*edit* i also raced against a Scorpion sidewinder 440 liquid cooled no studs, which is an 81. Won by a few sled lengths... ok like 10. Fast for an older machine though. Also raced against a 97 Polaris Indy 400 Liquid cooled (studded) and lost by about 1 sled length. recently it had its engine rebuilt, and also my clutch belt was worn out. Id like a rematch now that Im using a new clutch belt
*edit again LOL* I raced my friends Polaris XLT 580 SP piped, studded and I had about a 50 yard head start... and lost by about 30 sled lengths LOL it was bad. Tomarrow my friends are gonna race, XLT sp 580 Studded and piped vs an xlt sp 600 studded and not piped. I cant wait to find out who wins, ill edit this again tomarrow once i find out who wins!
*edit 12/28/06* Well... I got my rematch VS that 400... he put a new clutch kit in... smoked me... My friends raced the other day, those two polaris's, the 580 SMOKED the 600 every race. my friend with the 580 also raced a 1999 polaris 500 high output with studs and some aftermarket carbs and such. The 500 beat the 580 every race. I was pretty shocked.
