I have about 5,500 miles on my 1992 polaris xcr 440......i was just wondering if it should be rebiult and how often it should be rebuilt........if i should rebuild it should i have it bored out a little.....and should i replace the clutch..i think it is still the original??

check ur compression, if there below 110 psi u should put new rings in it. as to boring it out. are ther deeper scratches in the cyl. wall? or are you satisfied with its power now? if not bore it out. i dont know about clutches, iv never had any clutch trouble

your clutch will need serious help if it is factory. You most likely need new weights, rollers, and stuff. If the motor still runs fine, it should be good. Try replacing clutch springs, they get old, and weak, and will hurt performance after a while.

If it aint broke don't fix it! The clutch probably could use a servicing.
