Redline Snowmobiles

I have been looking online at the Redline Snowmobiles site. I had heard of them before, but never looked at them. These things are insane. Over 15" of rear travel. Plus, they have a 1300cc engine available. Anyone ever seen, riden, or know anything about these sleds?

Those are some insane snowmobiles! I thought they made some 4-strokes like in the 1300cc range. Not sure though...

Yeah, they make at least one four stroke in the 1300, and maybe another in the 800-1000 range too, i can't remember for sure but it says on their site. These are some crazy sleds and it looks like they're making a 700 for the sno-cross circuit, i'd say if they can make the weight limit they'll be a force to be reckoned with. they have some info on it, but they're keeping most of it secret for now.

Yee Haw!!!
Yeah, I remember reading something last year about how their sleds were too light. I want to say their sled was like 345 pounds, and the limit was 360 something. I dont know, but i can definitely say thats a light sled.

Does anyone know what the price range is on these machines? The only way i can see that they won't catch on is if they price themselves out of the market...

Yee Haw!!!
The 800 Revolt costs about $12,000. You can't order one for this year. They are now building the sleds ordered for LAST year. Maybe we'll see a few out on the trail this year. I talked to a dealer who said it weighed 485 lbs. This is a lot more than I expected. I wonder if he was wrong. I guess it's easy to switch from 15 inches of travel to none for lake racing. Kind of cool! It looks a lot better than my Blade, but my longtrack only weighs 442 lbs!

I want to ride every day, all day, as fast as I can.
They are big ripoff insults to real snowmobiles.

Bladeguy,
How do you like you're sled? I would think it is outstanding. Can you make any comparisons to other sleds I/we might be able to relate to as to power, handling, suspension? Is it comfortable, easy?

"Meaningless Ride"
Bladeguy, do you have your Blade yet? I was under the impression it was coming soon.

Polaris Man--why do you say they are ripoffs and insults to real snowmobiles? from what i've seen and read on them they seem to be pretty innovative and bring some "out of the box" thinking to the snowmobile industry. I'd love to have the suspension alone that they're putting on those machines.

Yee Haw!!!
The 1300 is a detuned helicopter motor that usually makes 300+ HP, The suspension looks pretty good but I would have to ride one to know for sure. The front suspension is outstanding (Coming from an A/C guy) Considered trading in my TCat for the 1300 but I have to much invested in my TCat to "give it away" so that I can ride a redline. Performance mods should be a snap since the motor is used to making 300HP and reliably or they wouldn't put it in a chopper. I can make 300HP if I want but the maintenace and up front cost would be more than I could take. They should be some good competition for Blade, CMX & the like.

The four stroke they make is a 954cc that they wanted to race in the 600 class snowcross. They wouldn't let them after test runs. Even though the regs say you can run upto a 1000cc thumper in the class if you want. Sounds like they were a little scared that they might get beat by a 4-stroke.
Now heres a man who has some good info. A helicopter motor? really? what kind of helicopter runs a 2 stoke. That sled is insane!! 225 HP, thats more than most cars, and the sled weighs less than 600 pounds. Do the HP/weight ratio on that, and you're getting up there toward Formula 1 levels. You left Nascar 6 HP/pound back.

after careful review, im not at all impressed by them, and i agree with polaris-man, way too expensive, and think about it people, are you gonna actuall trail ride something that is nothing more that an overglorified crotch rocket! i dont expect redline to last the duration like POLARIS, ARTIC CAT, SKI-DOO,and YAMAHA. now they make some sleds to be proud of, redline is for people with too much money and nothing to do with it. im not tryin to make anyone mad, or degrade their dream sled, just an opinion
I dont think they are looking to become mainstream. They are custom specialized machines for people who want to be different. I personally wouldn't want one, but they are certainly an interesting concept.

I do not have my sled yet. I do own a longtrack M-10. Smooth as can be! However, my sled is a little bit more nervous handling because it rides higher. Supposedly, this is not an issue with the Blade. I will post as soon as I get a ride on it with my analysis. Anyone want to head up the U.P. the next time the snow flies to ride at night? You can find out first hand!

xltman if I was able to afford the thing I wouln't be trail riding it I would be racing the thing in the North Woods Challenge. This thing would kick ass in the enduro race.

thats an interesting idea jb, not there are alot of sledders that probably wouldnt be able to do that after paying that much. none the less, its an interesting concept/design, just not one that sparked my interest, im happy with my polaris, made strong right here in the usa, and its my way out.
I'd be afraid that Redline's huge free floating rear track would grab hold of my leg and rip it off!!
