According to "internet hype", the boots connecting the reed cage to the throttle body/carbs on REV machines can blister and tear causing air leakage, lean conditions, and burndowns. Having nothing I'd rather do than tinker with the sled today, I took things apart and checked the condition of the boots and reeds on my '05 600sdi. I was pleased that the boots are intact, the pistons are not scored, and the reed petals are in good shape.

PTO side. Hard to see piston but it's the center section of the intake.

Boots had some light bubbling(if you can call it that) but no delamination or tears.



Reeds looked fine too.

I'm not going to hesitate to pin it this year.
