thats a tuff question. which sled are you talking about. ive seen proof that the ultras perform better with the v-2 over the v-3s. while ive also seen 3s over the 2s on other sleds.
never used boyeseen on a sled never had any luck with themlasting on my bikes.
somewhere on here there was a debate on which reeds to buy concerning the ultra but i cant find it right now. But i ended up with boyesen b/c they made slightly more hp, lasted longer than v-force and were a 1/3 of the cost of v-force(this is what one guys claimed w/dyno sheets or something). Madcow said boyesen for trail sleds but racing sleds, he said to use v-force for whatever reason. I am very happy with the boyesen as far as throttle response and price goes.
Now on the other hand...I read on various forums and in even more posts, that aftermarket reeds work with some sleds and motors, and in some cases do not. But in almost every case, they come into their own once you have installed pipes, bored carbs, or other engine mods.
I can't tell you if just the reeds are working on my machine because I did so much other stuff.
who needs them when you are running a salami slicer
