I have been using premium and i know it runs its best on premium but just wondering if it would hurt the engine if i used regular gas or what the effects would be. thanks.

IMO you wont have any issues but I know my sleds seem to get better fuel economy and performance with premium.I believe extra 20-30 cents pays off in the the life of the sled.

Octane 101:
Class is now in session:

It's best to run what the sled calls for.
It's on the sticker under the hood.

Too low of octane and you ping and predetonate at full throttle at times.
After too much of that, it leaves the top of your piston looking pitted out.
Bad deal in the long run.

Then too high of octane and you will run all rich and barbely.
Not good for performance there either.
That's what happens when people put race fuel into stock motors.
