I broke the plastic throttle block on my sled while i was changing to extended cables. To take that off do i have to remove the hand warmer element?

I believe you do. There is an allen set screw on the bottom of the block, that should be the only thing that holds it there.

gotta be dirt cheap through Dennis Kirk or Shadetree, any non-OEM brand should work just fine

If you peel it off carefully you can reuse it. The adhesive should stay on the element and the grip will hold it on anyway. I've had one on and off a sled a few different times and it still works.
