Grizz, That's retail.
My sled retailed for $6900 US. I bought it for $6600 with a trade in($6300 without). If they won't bargain, shop around.

SKI-DOO ROCKS!!
my dad's sled retailed for $7,400 american he got it for just under 7k with the good cover(there are two one plain and one real nice), extra belt, and maybe a helmet(was promised but not recieved yet). Depends who you are dealing with man. One place wanted liek 7,200 without cover or anything. This is the Yamaha SXViper by the way.
they are all in business to rip us off! hehehe.... just be a strict bugger and dont let down on the bargaining... if they wanna sell it, they will bargain. If not... UR SCREWED!

Duct tape much like the force... it has a light side, a dark side.... and it holds the world together!
My new sled Retails for 8299.... I paid 7200 even and got 300 in free accessories...not a bad deal at all

It's important to talk to more than one dealer. If he's the only game in town, he's not going to flex on his prices. I decided on an '02 Cat 600 EFI ZL SS. Retail is $7499, and the dealer quoted me at $7199. I went to antoher dealer that had them for $6379 including setup and freight. I went back to the other dealer and got him down to $6550, which is what I paid. I could have saved more money by buying it at the other place, but I don't like dealing with those other people (at the prices they sell at, they can't afford good --or polite-- salesmen), especially if I wound up needing warranty work.
It goes to show, price isn't everything.
You need good vibes with a dealer and their employees. There are alot of dealerships I wouldn't buy a quart of oil from because of their customer service. If you walk into a dealer and get ignored for 10 minutes or they have a bad attitude, SEE YA!
We are the customer and a good dealer realizes that.

Yes, when I bought my sled, I called just about every dealer in the state...and the prices I got varied by up to a thousand bucks....Also the customer service at my dealer has been great so far! Can't beat good prices and great service.

I just bought an 2002 Indy Xc 600 Sp and I ended up pay full frieght which was 6,749. with tax it was 7,100. I checked out 2 other dealerships & both were 200 to 300 hundred cheaper. The reason I didn't go with the cheaper is exactly what these guys are saying, service, service, service, & I bought my last sled from them. Did I mention sevice.

LET IT SNOW!!!!
Exactly....what is another 200 or 300 really when you are spending that much...not much for great service

My dad bought his Viper wear he did for two reasons. One they were the cheapest and best to him. Two the owner of the place remembered my dad from almost 20 years ago when he owned another dealership for motorcycles and my dad got a bike from him. I think that is why the guy was so nice to my dad. The guy even rememberd what bike it was and exactly what work they did to it.

Who are you???? I'm from Stamford!!! I can't believe that Ronnies sells so many sleds. His prices are out of control. Good service is one thing, but he better buy me dinner and whisper in my ear before I pay those prices. I bought my Cat at Pittsfield Lawn & Tractor and those guys treated me great. I'm picking it up this afternoon! One other thing that I hadn't considered earlier was the interest rate. Troy City (The other place I was talking about) had 13.5% interest, but PLT had 9.9%. That difference saved me more than the extra that I paid on the sled.

Looking around for the best dealer with the best price is important. My T-Cat listed for 10,900 and I only paid $9200 and that included swapping the skis a cover, changing the clutching, a 15wide chain & gears, 2 gallons of oil, and spare belt.
Did I mention he also gives me great service.

Grizz, I'm sure the market in Quebec is similar to that in Ontario...slow slow slow. The dealers are sitting on inventory that isn't moving too quickly, and they are paying interest on that inventory. They want it out. Do 2 things, find the dealer that offers the best deal, price, free stuff like oil, covers, clothes, trail permits...then squeeze him and squeeze him hard. You should be able to come away with around $500 off the price of the machine, at least 2 gallons of oil, a spare belt and plugs, and if you are good, a cover and maybe a trail pass.
Then go find yourself the best service dealer to take of your machine. Work on building a relationship with this dealer, he'll take care of you well.
I play 3 dealers in my area, for my Polaris', 2 for pricing, and the third knows he gets all my service money. He's happy with that since his profit percentage is greater this way and I don't insult him when I squeeze the price issue.
A hint, cash in hand, not, "well, I take the machine, but I have to arrange financing" makes a big leverage difference. Also, don't appear too anxious to make the deal, be prepare to walk away from it if you don't feel right. Make him squirm.

Mr. Magoo I wish it was that easy to bargin with the dealerships here in CT. You could never do that here. The reason high demand, theres too many people willing to pay full price for what they want. Its good to know someone is getting a break. Put it this way, I spent 7,100 & I didn't even get a cover. I had to buy it with my 250 in free accessory money. The dealership I bought mine at sold 112 sleds this year, they said if they give me one they have to give everyone one. On top of it I bought my last sled from them. But I like them & I can see where there coming from. So I'll stop complaining.

LET IT SNOW!!!!
If you buy in the spring you can deal better than right now, but still dicker with them.
