I have heard of these but never seen them for sale..

Anyways i would like to widen my running boards so my feet dont hang off the edge when standing up.

Does anyone know if they work or how much they might cost?

but for a Gen2 or would it work the same on a gen2 as a edge?

You could fab up your own. That's what I'm doing for my 02 Doo Renegade. I'm using a 2'x4' sheet of 1/8" thick aluminum to form my boards. They'll be 7" wide the entire length until they will kick up at the end. For the edges I'll be lining them with 1"x1" aluminum angle (1/8" thick as well).

After buying my supplies I'm into the project about $75 Canadian.

I thought that it would probly be easy enough to make your own, but my concern is what would it look like.

Here's what I did to my Gen two a couple years back. Got a member on snowest to build them for me, then used Cat edges to finish them. I forget the guys name but could find it for ya I'm sure. Cost was around $250. No slipping off after this.

I guess i could make my own extensions and have them removable or something..

Alright, yeah not for free that's for sure. I was in the same boat as you, and couldn't find a thing on line for a gen two. Rox has the edge ones that would work... But they keep a lot of snow I ice up. These don't have that problem. :)

would they work on wedge chasis, i sure would like to extend the running boards on the storm and rxl about 2 inches. its a real bi**h trying to have fun in the ditchs and such with the narrow stock ones. ive got wide feet to begin with, and then you add your snow boots, shit its rediculous.

If you take your time and do it right you can make it look pretty good. This is my first time doing it, and so far so good. I'll post pictures of my build (or a link to the topic on Dootalk) when I make a topic about it.

Personally though, I'm going for functionality over looks, so I really don't care about how they look after they are done. I'm also covering my tunnel with truck bed liner after, so any imperfections will be hidden unless you are really close.

For sure. ^^^^ Guys name is Snowstar on snowest. Just get him to make them out of pretty thick material. Mine were a bit thin and the grips started to bend down into the holes. But I jumped it a lot, so that doesn't help.
