just restored and got running a 1975 rupp nitro 440 II. final got snow today. put new drive belt on it and went for a test ride. at first it wound high rpm and didnt go very fast. stray the out side of the secondary clutch where the spring is. tried it again, this time it took off and run good. when slowed down it lost some low end take off.looked at secondary clutch noticed it didnt return all the way back. is there a way to loosen it up. or do i need to remove it, take apart and clean it up?[thumb]
i got that clened up and working.
next what are the numbered slots for where the spring locks into. its on number four now. takes off good but you can feel the belt slip during acceloration. used stock belt and a new one, it does have the comet clutch. should the belt be shorter?
