I was just wondering what the top speed on my sled will be. It is a LX so it adds a few pounds. It still only weighs 491lbs.

I just wanted to know before the snow hits.

Any answers would be appreciated!

I forgot to mention that it has 85 hp.

I dont know what the gearing is or the max rpm so i cant do the equation.

There is no way it would beat a f6 in topspeed. Unless it has been geared down or ain't running right.

I would say 95-105 mph.

I'd say the 500 sabercat is good for about 80-85 mph, the 105 hp F5 will see 100 + or -.

Actually ive been looking into it and the Firecats are geared so mine can actually get them in top speed.

from other places the speed is 100-105mph.

I think you're going to get a surprise this winter, and not one you're looking forward to.

No way is that sled realisticly hitting 100mph. Its on a touch over 80hp. Dont matter what shes geared for. Id say 85 with a good running well setup sled. Itll keep up with most 500's but not the 105hp F5.

For 07 the F5 only has 80 hp so maybe that's what he's refering to. Think about it for a minute how can a 80 hp sled be faster on top then a 105 hp sled. If that was the case nobody would spend the big bucks on the 6-7-800's.

I'd say between 75-85 depending on riders weight.I rode one last year and in a mile with the throttle pegged I could only get about 78-80,I weigh about 210.No way it will beat F series cats

85 maybe 90 but I think 90 would be pushing it.

85 or 90 If you on had pack level I have pushed the needle above the nine but you have to take in to account mis-calibration. Still all I ever need for where I ride.

Why did they de-tune the sabrecats down to mid 80's for horsepower this year?

all the 500's for 07 are detuned... reasons unknown. those 105 horse f5's are fast sleds.

The new F5's and older SaberCat 500's dont have powervalves. I guess the reasoning for this is people who want a few extra hp will stepup and buy a F6.
