I have been doing some speed running this winter and want to tell people not to waste money on pipes or just any clutch kit. on my 800xcr my own clutch kit for the trail pulls 108.4 consistantly. the same sled with slp pipes and there clutch kit run 106. the guy couldnt believe it.
we dont have the good fuel anymore so you need to tune the sled every day to take advantage of the extra power your suppose to have.
stock clutching pull hard from low to mid.
aftermarket kit pulls hard from low to mid, but it is faster than stock so it seems faster on top. I buy my parts from Hinkley motors 320 384 7574 Luke is a fun guy and we bs a lot. He custom builds clutch kits that run a couple mph faster than an hot seat or erlandson but you save 50 dollars and the kit is made for your specific machine and rider.

ok you get 2MPH higher top speed BUT do you get there faster? Does your 1/4 speed and time get better? Got to look at that. Most ppl don't race for top speed runs.

Yeah, if I were to buy a clutch kit I would want it for the low end gains. I like to go fast but will sacrifice that for a lot of pull down low. A lot of the Polaris machince come from the factory already set up real nice. They have top notch cluthing. Of course, this won't work the greatest with bigger or smaller guys.

Same with Yamahas they come setup really well. If you look at shootout results when they clutch them they actually get slower sometimes.

What year's that 800 XCR Jon? I'm looking at a 99 XCR 800 for $6,000 Cdn. Still has the 2 year warranty. Any input about this sled? Much appreciate. Probably get it cheaper in another month, if I remember correctly, it has 1,500 miles

If I read his post correctly, I believe it is in Hinkley, MN.....about 80 miles from me! Maybe I will have to go check this place out! Any idea what a kit would cost for my 2002 AC ZR800 EFI?

the 99xcr 800 is a nice machine they are not the lightest but with some tunnig to the suspension they ride great. the engine is nice and reliable they have a huge cooling system. but look it over like any sled. where is it located

the price for his in shop clutch kits are around 150

he is located about 2 miles from the hinckley casino 320 384 7574 HIS NAME IS LUKE SEGARRA

he works on all brands and can make that zr800 and xc500 run how you want and where in the power band you want it the nice thing is the kit is specific for you and at a lesser cost than an off the shelf.

he used to do world record runs then moved on to be a major tech person for the nssr.

what i like is i do the work myself and pick most of my clutching parts but then he always has a little piece of information to maybe get just a little different thing

YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM A TRY I HAVE NEVER HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE WITH ANY DEALER IN MY LIFE

I will ask him for an website

the price is a guess but should be close

my sled is a 2000 model I met an old man that had a 2000 with 5500 miles last winter he did a lot of wide open runs for long distance on big lakes and he never had a lick of trouble with the engine

the 99 in the aggresive chasis also had a real good headlight they are heavy but I think you would be supprised what that thing can do in a tight trail. If you get it or any polaris like it let me know I would be happy to help set it up for your size and ridding conditions
the 2001,2002 have the electric shock I want to put the rydefx from the 98 xc600 that shock is adjustable wich can make a sled ride like a dream these sleds are valved a little soft for hard trail
