i recently went to a discount parts store by me and i told them i needed a rear shock for a 98 zr 600 carb. and they got me the part. well me not being the spart person i am i forgot the old shock at home to compare them. well anyway i get home and i compare the two shocks and the new one was like 1-2 inches longer. well i look the part number up in the catalog they gave me and it was one for a 00-01 zr 700 and i called them and they said it would work. but my question is wouldnt that put more stress on the shock and if i hit a bump hard make it bottom out easier and break or blow the shock out. well i was just wondering if it will be fine or if i should just take it back and get the right one.
