I posted 2 problems I am having with my sleds lastnite. I have a 2000 mxz 700 that after a "friend" so called cleaned and tuned carbs it now smokes bad when fire it up. Was wondering what screw on carbs should be set at. Also I have a 1998 mxz 440 air that after same person "fixed" now it will fire up and run for a bit but then will stall and won't restart. Pull plugs n they r black and soaked. Also the tail light wasn't working when I got 440 back and I noticed plug hangin out the side of seat. I pulled the seat n saw that there is 2 diff plugs coming out from under gas tank but only one coming out of seat. Plugged in the one that matched and now tail light works but no brake light. Bulb is good. Was wondering what 2nd plug cld be for?

Sounds like you need to check the oil pump setting on your 700. Your 440 is runnin way too rich.

What should oil pump be set at for 700? And do I turn screw in or out to fix the 440?

try looking for stock calibration for the carbs and the oil pump in your manual
