Great upgrade, but you will have to move the mounting points. Did it last year, let me see if I can find the thread I did on it.
Here we go: http://www.snowmobilefanatics.com/forum/topic/101906/display.aspx?page=1
Also check out the JBShocks website for the mounting points measurements. Great source of information.
Thanks man, How does it handle now that the rear it so much higher? What did you use for mounting brackets? Did you have to add that yellow tunnel supports? Are the mounting holes the same height off the running boards as the original holes? Thanks again.
It handles great. I had to add a little ski pressure because it pushed like crazy in the turns, but once I got it dialed in I was very happy with it overall.
The holes are the same height relative to where they are in the tunnel, so you can't just eye them up. I used the same supports and redrilled and riveted the mounting points.
You know the adage "Measure twice, cut once?" Make sure when you do it, that you measure 4 times before you drill. I was 1/8 of an inch off on the rear mount, and I had to improvise a bit.
Tunnel supports were for looks mainly, but I was surprised how much rigidity they added. Definitely worth picking some up.
Check out HCS, there's always a couple edge skids floating around over there.
