Just want to know if a set of plastic stock skis off a '98 XC would bolt on to my '92 XCR? May get some cheap...

All Polaris from 80-05 will take the plastic ski.

Is this swap totally bolt on? Does a person need any special parts to make the change? I've got a friend with a '96 XCR that has metal skis, and he's talked of wanting to try and convert to plastic, but we haven't really spent any time looking at how much work it might be. Just looking for a little more guidance from someone who's been thru it before, if possible. Thanks!!

No changes at all. It is a complete bolt and go. When I had my 95 xcr 600, I put plastics on it with no issues. It handled so much better, it was a night and day difference and that was with polaris skis.

I did the same when I had my 97 XLT. It was a simple swap.

It will bolt on, but if you dont get spindles from the sled the plastic skis came off its going to sit an inch lower. The saddle in the metal one is higher than the plastic skis.
