today i got my 96 indy trail 488 out because we are supposed to have enough snow to ride tomorrow but i got it out and it idles at 3000 rpms, i know thats too high but what is it supposed to idle at and do i turn the idle screw out or in too get it to idle down, how many turns out should the idle screw be at, thanks

Should idle around 1200-1500 rpm's. Some people go as high as 1800.

Turning in the screw lowers the idle...I could have it switched around though. Turn it a quarter turn and see what happens, that shouldn't change it drastically.

Start it up and adjust the idle screw until it's where you want it.(1500 (+ -) 100
