I have a ski-doo 500 formula. It starts and idles fine when cold (about 1500 rpm)- but when it gets warm - I always have to push in on the throttle to get it to start - and then the idle is usually very slow (about 1000 rpm) Is this something to do with the air bleed screw ?

Possibly the air bleed. But first you should put the air screw back to stock setting and then maybe screw in the idle screw (clockwise) to raise the throttle valve and get a higher idle.
