I was previously viewing another site and there was concern on a smoke problem. Again I am just new into snowmobiles and was wondering if a sled is supposed to smoke heavily on start up and warm up? Seems like and smells like normal smoke but man does it pour out!Is this normal?

Check to see if your oil pump actuator lever is returnig to it's idle position. The Mikuni oil pumps have a tendancy to stick open slightly once they get some hours on them. They usually only hang up when the throttle is depressed with engine not running. This will cause the oil to slowly siphon and fill the crankcase over time.

Before long term storage, I always make sure I manually push the lever on the pump back to the idle position. Also, i check to see if the pump returns to the idle position when the sled is running. If it hangs up when running, it's time to service the pump.
