My speedometer, odometer and tripmeter aren't working. Is it just the speedo cable causing this?

most likely ya, probably blew a shear pin in the speedo hub, or broke the cable

check the speedo key... By any chance is your sled a polaris? cause every polaris I have owned has had speedo problems.. I just stoped fixing it, I dont need to know how fast I go

my speedo quit working on my 96 Polaris RXL. I removed the driven clutch, then the plate that attaches the speedo cable to the end of the driveshaft, and discovered the main drive bearing was "gone". Asking around, this sounds like a common problem. I viewed the broken speedo an excellent indicator to me the bearing was shot. Be aware that you should at least check it out before deciding not to keep fixing the small pin that breaks.
