New to site from New Hampshire, need a few tips for some clutching, gearing to do 660 and 1000ft speed runs. My sled is a 97 mach z 800. here is what im running 286 ramps,16gr pins, green white primary spring, 54 52 50 erlandson helix, beigh spring 17 lbs, 22-44 gears, motor is trail ported [email protected] 113ft lb tourque, Jaws pipes. In 660 on my stalker radar gun the sled runs 100 mph consistantly. This set up is pretty stout for side by side, but when I try to do speed runs im usually 5 miles an hour sower than every one else that I drag race. I gear the thing and it usually does not make any diffrence at all. what am I doing wrong. Im good on the start and midrange, but I just aint got it on top. Ive run this setup for so long and have had had great sucess in the ameature grass drags but im lost when it comes to speed runs. Thanks for any help Ace
